East Marton Double Arched Bridge Jan 20, 2017
East Marton is a village approximately five miles from skipton and is situated between Skipton and Barnoldswick.

East Marton is known for the Leeds and Liverpool canal which passes through the village, being part of the Pennine Way, and its double arched bridge, an original pack-horse bridge which was transformed to accommodate then the new A59 road which was built on top of it.

We passed through East Marton on our canal walk from Barnoldswick to Skipton.

Boaters and walkers will come across this bridge on this stretch of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. The original pack-horse bridge was converted to a double-arched bridge to accommodate the new A59 which was built on top.
