I ate at E.A.T. Dec 14, 2013
We ate lunch at E.A.T. because Jenn was on a mission – she had read some good reviews on the grilled cheese sandwiches served at this delicatessen and wanted to investigate. I expanded our coverage by ordering a combination salad with veggie frittata. Once again, prices were through the roof, though I suppose that may have simply been due to our neighborhood (Upper East Side). Still, the service was only average, which struck me as being at odds with an affluent part of the city?

My meal was good, though the portion and flavor was ultimately a disappointment at the steep price point. Jenn let me sample her grilled cheese and we concurred it was pretty awesome --- the cheese delicious and the bread grilled perfectly (meaning with a L.O.T. of butter!). The complimentary basket of breads was another winner - I sampled several and everything was top shelf. If price and service aren’t concerns, E.A.T. works, though I won’t be seeking it out for a repe.a.t. performance.
