E.G. Simmons Park A Real Florida CampGround Dec 12, 2008
From Old School’s head South on US Hwy 41 go past the Teco Manatee Viewing Center on Big Bend Road. Past Apollo Beach when you see the MacDonald’s North of Ruskin turn right on 19th Av. follow the signs to a true Florida Gem. E.G. Simmons Park has almost 500 acres of pristine Florida camping. Birds, animals, bugs & every critter required for true camping are here, nowhere on any sign will you see the word RESORT, this is a Campground! Each site has electric, water, fire rings & large picnic tables. There are dump stations at both the West & East campgrounds. Bath houses within easy walking distance from all sites. Almost all the sites back up to your own personal canal. You can fish & launch small boats from you own site. There are boat ramps if you have a large boat. I personally like the East Side Camp Ground the sites are larger with more trees. A great place to view the wildlife & waters of Florida the way it is supposed to be; up close & personal & at at GREAT PRICE!
