After Amsterdam I was heading in the same direction as Amanda and peter so we decided we'd stick together for company. We arrived into the Dusseldorf station in late afternoon and made for the Youth Hostel to find a bed. Peter and I were placed in the same dorm and Amanda to a dorm with…

Rhine River, Germany -› Cologne, Germany -› …
On our way to/from the U2 360 concert in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on 3 August 2009, we took an Deutsche Bahn IC train along the Rhein River. We could only see the castles across the river from us, but they were spectacular! We stayed in Dusseldorf for 1 night and 1 night in Essen.

I was driving back to Denmark to pick up some stuff and I decided to use the return drive for a visit to some of the many wonderful German cities that I had not seen yet.
Germany keeps on surpricing me positively every time.

Dussledorf is a German city very close to Köln and was leveled during WWII so most of the city is fairly new which makes it a perfect place for architects to study. As you can see from the pictures a lot of the buildings are very contemporary in style and are more like art than functional buildings. I stayed in a hostel there and it was definitely the nicest one I've stayed in. I highly recommend visiting this city but don't forget to visit Köln as well.

Hi!
I went to Dusseldorf this weekend and this is where I went and what I did (I enjoyed it all!).
Me and my friend stayed at the Ibis Hauptbahnhof. It's located IN the central station, so ideal if you're traveling by train. We went by car, parked it in a parkhaus for 20 euro's (1,5 day), on sat…
