A lot of people living in the South of the Netherlands near the German border use the International Airport of Dusseldorf. It's only 90km form the south of the Netherlands. I flew once from it an liked it, it is a nice clean modern airport with all the facilities you can expect from a airport this size.
Düsseldorf International Airport (German: Flughafen Düsseldorf International) (IATA: DUS, ICAO: EDDL), is the third largest airport in Germany, located in Düsseldorf, the capital city of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. With 17.8 million passengers passing through in 2007, only Frankfurt International Airport and Munich International Airport served more passengers in Germany. The airport serves as the main hub for the airline LTU and as an important secondary hub for Lufthansa. Lufthansa offers about 300 flights per day (53 destinations) from or to Düsseldorf. Starting in May 2008, Lufthansa will also re-launch long-haul operations from the airport. The airport's 70 hosted airlines support flights to 186 non-stop-destinations on all continents. The airport has up to 750 takeoffs and landings per day. Düsseldorf International Airport is located about 9 km (5.6 mi) from the center of Düsseldorf, Germany, and is the primary airport for the Rhein-Ruhr region -- the largest urban area in Germany and among the largest metropolitan areas of the world. Düsseldorf International has two runways, which are 3,000 m and 2,700 m long. There are plans to extend the 3,000 m runway to 3,600 m, but the city of Ratingen, which lies in the approach path of the runway, is blocking them. So today is the day of the meet up but first we actually have to get there. Set the alarm pretty early and since we didn’t get to bed until early morning it wasn’t pleasant waking up. We staan vandaag vroeg op. Wekker gaat om 04.00. Na een snelle uitcheck zijn we klaar om door een taxi opgehaald te worden om naar het vliegveld t…airport. Jeez, it's still so early and cold! Brrr .... We just have to wait a little while and then we have the heat of India ! The taxi picks us exactly 5 hours up. In a time of mum brings us to the airport… Flying.... |

knowing me, before a flight - icould not sleep well - specially if the flight is early in the morning! arrrghhhh i was still chatting with friends in facebook until past 2 am and i have to be at the airport at 7 am lol. well my flight ist at 9 …airport. düsseldorf international airport never fails to amaze me, it is the most efficient airport i had been - everything is so simpe - although its huge, it isnt like a labyrinth where i get lost lol, i booked czech air for the trip, and i have… arrrghhhhhhh late again! only have an hour to get to the airport! lol |

What do you do when your flight is been cancelled or it's just the whole night till the boarding time? All this so unexpected... I was travelling to Malaga,Spain. The flight was from Düsseldorf. And i stock between the railway station and the airpo…airport... the only problem was that the last train has gone, and we didn't know how to get to the airport by foot. We arrived at the airport and we found a taxi to bring us to our hotel. It is just to the other side of the airport, so it took us max 10 minutes to get there.
