The nice part about Durham is that it may be a city, but you don't have to go far to find the country. I went on a walk on some walking paths around Durham on a little trip to Tesco and it was so great! The best part was seeing the Cathedral from the distance. I hope more people who go to England g…

The durham castle is not all that big. If you've been around england then this castle isnt very impressive. However, the environment in which it is set is what makes it unique. Its well kept and extremely picturesque.A good idea for a day outing.

Geno's Magical Mystery tour of Northern UK. I started in Aberdeen & hooned through Edinburgh, Newcastle, Durham, Whitby, Robin Hood Bay, Scarborough, Hull, York, Yorkshire Dales, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Lakes District and of course, made a quick visit to Wales to the town with the 2nd longest name in the World: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
What a beautiful trip it was: terrific scenery, an abundance of history and some very funny accents.

Through the city centre, past a couple of memorials and comparatively understated churches to the station, I departed Newcastle on the 10:30am train toward Durham. Upon arrival, I felt comfortable that I was again on track with my itinerary.
Beyond Durham’s tiny centre, I hiked a p…

For our honeymoon my wife Anna, and I went to Thailand, Italy, Germany, Amsterdam, France, UK and Iceland! It was an amazing trip, my first to Europe, between October and November 2006. Anna was around 4 months pregnant with our first son, Jake, so she wasn't able to drink so our dream of drinking red wine in Paris through the night had to be postponed for another trip. Iceland had always been a dream destination for me for as long back as I can remember and I finally made it there!
