Just returned from a week long vacation to Myrtle Beach. My extended family and I stayed in two rooms at the Dunes Village Resort. On the third night of my stay, I was bitten extensively by bed bugs. An exterminator was called in who identified the bugs in both beds of the room in which I was staying. Management did not seem to know how to handle the situation. They moved us to another room, however they seemed to have trouble acknowledging or understanding how an infestation occurs, including the possibility that we could carry the beds to the new room. The room we vacated appeared to be cleaned and ready for occupants the following day, contrary to recommendations made by the exterminator. Needless to say, the matter was not taken seriously.

I loved everything , the only thing I hated was the prices. The restaurant was nice , but just a little bit to expensive for me. Clean room , great amenities , great location (close to a residential community , not crowded). Bring some extra money...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Bad Cancellation Policy Apr 08, 2008
Be aware of their cancellation policy. Unlike the big chains that allow you to cancel the day before, with Dunes Village you need to cancel two weeks before or you lose your deposit.

First, after doing a hefty amount of research, we settled for the Ocean Reef Resort. Actually it was a toss-up between the Dunes Village Resort, Breakers, and the Ocean Reef.
