Finally I made it to the land of my heritage. Well part of it at least. Ireland had been the one place I had wanted to go since I was a young boy and it didn't dissappoint. Once there, the first thing to do was find the hostel, Jacob's Inn, which was the start of an adventure. I think my friends an…

For most of 1993 I worked at the YWCA (Young Women´s Christian Association) at Lower Baggot Street in Dublin. I was the assistant manager here, which involved basically all duties you can think of in a hostel. This hostel did cater for some short term guests but we mainly had people staying long t…

Soili, a cousin of mine came to visit me to Dublin for a couple of days in late June. She chose a good time to come by, because apart from a few heavy showers the weather was kind to us: the sun shone brightly and there was a nice cooling breeze. Soili arrived to Dublin on Friday afternoon, wh…

Booked a trip to Dublin just because I've never seen U2 before and seriously needed a vacation. A couple weeks later I found out about the Irish Boogie (skydiving fest) and things couldn't have worked out better. Met some great people, had a lot of fun, and plan on returning.
