22 October 2006:
The last day had arrived. It was time to go back home. We didn’t see enough so we really have to come back. I can recommend this city, but maybe it’s better to go in summer. With the sun it will be much better, for sure.

To those who are fully aware of my lifestyle choice, it comes as a surprise to some that no matter how far afield I have journeyed so far, why would I choose to neglect places much closer to home such as Wales and the Republic of Ireland? Well, an attempt to remedy that perception in no small measu…

I woke up Sunday and made my way to the free bread, jam and juice the Isacc had to offer. After the light breakfast I check out and headed out to tour the city. I did not have much time to explore until my flight out in the evening. I headed out onto the streets that were a lot less crowded then…

Well... yes, it´s been awhile and man, do I have stories. Some good, some bad, some ridiculously awful, some just... different. To say that I have incredibly mixed feelings about Barcelona would be the understatement of the century... It´s going to take me a while to get all my faithful readers c…

I had to wake up early to check out. Ate breakfast alone again in the
"restaurant," which is an old church turned into a cafeteria-ish
setting where I ate my free toast and cereal. Yay for free. I had to
get them to hold my bag for me, though, which was a confrontation that
resulted in me getti…

Months before our group left for Europe, Brett planned an epic trip to Dublin for his birthday, which had about 20 of us hopping on good 'ol Ryanair for the weekend trip. The first night wasn't entirely eventful as we got there later in the day, but the next day was fantastic. G…

Today is our last day here :( We sort of slept in, since it was late last night: 8 AM we got up, and got packed. Luckily we had an elongated check out time: 2 PM in stead of 12 o'clock...
So after breakfast we were off again: I wanted to see the exhibition Bodies, but it was a bit expensive: € 2…

Dublin is a quite nice place! It's pretty big, but fortunately doesn't seem to be so. It looks like a good place to live. This is our second stay in the town. We came from Derrylin in the early morning, went to the airport, left the luggage and then went back to the city for a great day. We visited…

Time to go back home, so I got the Airlink bus to the airport and got there in plenty of time. I had done an online check-in so I could just walk straight to security. There I had to open my suitcase because they saw liquids in it. I had comletely forgotten about the two bottles of ice-magic I got!…

The Irish capital is a small, but vibrant, historical, joyful and green city with charming houses and elegant boulevards. Who remember the novels of Gulliver's Travels, Dracula and Ulyses?? They were written by Jonathan Swift, Bram Stoker and James Joyce.... all of them sons of Dublin. The most outstanding and well known son is undoubtedely Oscar Wilde.

~We took the 'swift' ferry run by Irish Ferries, from Holyhead to Dublin. I booked the passage online at home before we left. While speaking to Brit Rail in Manchester I was informed that I could have booked the whole trip, train and ferry from Manchester, at a lower rate than I did on line. But wh…

John and I have been in Dublin for 36 hours. We were jet lagged for the first 30. I think we finally feel somewhat normal. Dublin is ok. We already changed our plans and cancelled our jaunt to the Irish countryside and instead we're headed to LONDON!! We just weren't f…

I went to Dublin. For a party. Please don't anyone ask me what Dublin was like - my observations are strictly limited to a ferry terminal, two ferries, and a bar. Ferries are unbelievably more civilised than flying. You turn up half an hour before hand, by a ticket, someone half h…
