Best tip I can give is to buy the Dublin pass...buy it at the tourist info desk at the airport. If possible, do a 1-day pass and try to get to the main admission-required sites on the same day (Guinness, Kilmainham Gael, Christ Church, St. Patricks, Jameson, etc.). Be sure not to activate it too early...if you arrive Friday and plan to use it on Saturday, pay separate for the bus from the airport to the city center...otherwise you've wasted the pass, as it's calendar days, not 24 hour periods. Even if you don't recoup the entire expense on free admissions, skipping the line at the Guinness Storehouse makes it entirely worthwhile.

The other bonus of passing meant… What Appears To Be The End Is Really Only The Beginning

New York… Dublin (Dublin Castle, Chester Beatty Library, Literary Pub Crawl and more Guinness)

Christ Church Cathedral was very near and since our Dublin Passes allowed us free entrance we decided to have a quick peek. Well ... it's a church, a nice one but still a church. And after Andalusia I'd seen enough of those for the rest of the millenium. ;-) The origins of this one dated… Dublin (Christ Church Cathedral, Kilmainham Goal, The Old Jameson's Distillery and Guinness)

To make the most of my day I got a stop and go bus pass which proved to come in handy.  I visited the magnificent Christ Church Cathedral and, my personal favorite.  Dublinia where I learned about the Viking influence on the country.  I even met a Viking silversmith who used real Viking tools and techniques… Dublin - The City of Surprises

As I walked back I passed the church that the tour guide had told us housed the remains of St. Valentine...yes that St. Valentine. So I decided to stop and take a look. It was funny, this was also a house of worship like Christ Church Cathedral...but this… Trim Castle, Guinness Storehouse, Christ Church Cathedral and Dublinia
