Dublin Bus Tour Reviews

Nov 12, 2006

If you want to have fun and get to see a few sights in Dublin without wrecking your feet, a Dublin Bus Tour is for you. The commentators are great fun and they'll give you some good insight into the history of Dublin. It stops at certain points and you can get off the bus to explore the area or museums and then wait for the next bus to pick you up.

There are 3 different operators and the tours are mainly held in english. One tour bus operator offeres multilingual tours. You pick up headphones and you have a pick between 6 different languages including japanese!

The tours cost €14 and the ticket last for 24 hours. Intersting stops include the Guinness Storehouse, Kilmainhaim Gaol, The Jameson Distillery, The book of Kells only to name a few. Definitely take your time and hop off to visit some of the museums and generally explore Dublin. If it is a nice day Phoenix Park is great to wander around and the zoo is not too bad either.

I always feel guilty doing a city bus tour, but you know, they DO help you get the lay of the land in a new city, and I quite enjoy them, even though I feel like I'm not supposed to say that for some reason... I would totally do this!
