Dubbel - a nice, cool restaurant Mar 07, 2008
Dubbel is right near Leidseplein, on the road with all the restaurants. It's a little further away than you'd normally walk, and it is decorated like a Dutch Student Cafe, with posters for the local venues. Atmospherically lit, it doesn't look like much at first, but we were definately chuffed with the friendly staff.
There is a good menu and it really isn't expensive, and we were talked into getting a bottle of fizzy wine for my friend's birthday. It turned out to be great value. The steaks were excellent, and the bill wasn't much at all. I would definately come back here, although next time, I might avoid the dodgy looking lollies!  Part of the Amsterdam 2008 travel blog
