Duas Nacoes Residence Lisbon
Duas Nacoes Residence Lisbon Reviews
A hot view of Lisbon Jul 14, 2008
This hotel is in a fantastic location. It is in the middle of Baxia and on the main pedestrian street, corner of Vitoria and Augusta. The building is old and charming with balconys to enjoy the view of Bario Alto.
The interior is in bad need of a renovation but, this is a budget hotel so, who cares about the lobby, right. The staff was friendly and spoke passable English. The room was small but not a shoe box. It was also in need of atleast a freshening. It's budget but doesn't have to be dreary. The bath is really small but, that is partially due to the fact that there is a sink and shower but, no toilet. It's located in the hall. A surprise for me as this was a first for me. The communal toilet was clean. Warning - this hotel has no airconditining. I wasn't aware of this, when booking. My visit to Lisbon was in July, God help me. I thought I was going to melt. I had a fan but and french doors to a balcony and even a small fan but it really didn't help due to the 45 celcius / 113 fahrenheit. The balcony I mentioned is the only reason other than price that you might want to stay here. It offers a view unparalled at this price I could see baxia and bario alto and all the way to the water!!! I would definitely stay here again but, only in the spring or fall!!! This Hotel is not the Best ever. But it's very central and near every sort of trnasportation and a few hot spots.
There are rooms with shower and toilet and rooms with shared bathroom. The Breakfast is ok for an portugese breakfast. Just a croissant, marmelade, coffee, juice and tea. Part of the Lisbon (Lisboa) Do's and Dont's travel blog |
