Druk Amitabh Monestry, Kathmandu Oct 10, 2012
Sunnyday of last weekend I hiked up to the mountain as part of Hiking Ridges of Kathmandu Valley. For the fisrt time I come to western ridge of Kathmandu valley where couple of monestries has been built in recent time. It took me two hours to be here at Druk Amitabh Monestry (White Monestry) and next ridge in another half an hour. The weather was not that clear but it was sunny day at all. Big statues of Tibetan Gurus and Buddha is so attractive here. surroundings are beautiful with small villages. Terrece field, Land scape, Mountains and distant view of Kathmandu Valley, Monkey temple etc could be seen well. This is season of Merigold and other yellow color flowers and its nice to pass through to the terrace type land field on the way back down the valley. I have visited three other monestries down the hill. It took me 5 hours total. I enjoyed this trip for a weekend.
Buddha, Padmasambhava and .....
Statue of Druk Amitabha Buddha.
