Nice Location & Helpful Staff Jun 08, 2011
We stayed at Driftwood Inn for two nights during our visit to Zion National Park. There is a shuttle bus stop in front of the inn, so the access to the Park is nice and easy. Once you hop on the shuttle, Zion is just 5 minutes away.
This is a motel-styled lodge. There is a building which houses their reception desk and a restaurant by the street, and, on the premises, there are several other buildings with guest rooms. There are also a swimming pool and a laundry room.
We had a room with two queen beds. The room was spacious and clean. There were a small fridge and a microwave oven which were handy when we brought back food from town. There is a restaurant called Parallel Eighty-Eight, and we ate breakfast there twice. Food was quite good, and the price was not too high for a hotel restaurant.
Throughout our stay, the staff was very nice and helpful. The housekeeping lady was flexible for our needs and schedule. The gentleman at the front desk kept the laundry room open for me because my load was taking longer...
We had a nice stay at Driftwood, and we'd love to stay there again when we return to Zion.

Great Lodge, Great People , Nice Room Jul 06, 2010
I stayed at the Driftwood Lodge for three nights at the end of June while visiting Zion National Park.
About Me: Single traveler, mid-twenties who is happy with a quiet, clean room, with internet access, and accessible to everything (town, park).
The hotel is located less than 10 minutes from the entrance to Zion National Park which is accessible by a free shuttle (provided by the NPS), 3-4 stops from the entrance, or by private automobile.
Located alongside the Virgin River, this hotel was a great place sleep and to relax in between and after hikes.
Price: $120 (appx) excluding about $15-$18 in taxes, so about $135 a night for a King Room. Booked directly through the hotel website one week prior to arrival.
Check In: Check in took less than five minutes, professional, yet genuinely welcoming and inviting, given an actual key, map of the facility and brief introduction to the hotel.
Parking: Free, available in front of your hotel room. Car used only to go into the town itself (though I could have used the shuttle bus as well)..
Room: Stayed in a room, #203, room appeared to be appointed with new furniture, with a King-sized bed, was clean, had a television, had to request an ironing board and iron from the front desk. There was a small space in the rear that had a mini-refrigerator..
The bed was comfortable, I slept good after a day of hiking and taking in the sights of Zion National Park.
Bathroom: Clean, standard flush toilet, shower with a tub, had good water pressure throughout the many showers taken, sink and vanity table located outside of the bathroom itself at the rear of the hotel room..
WiFi: Complementary, password located in the inner cover of the hotel information booklet inside the room, IMPORTANT: in order to maintain connectivity, you MUST leave the two windows OPEN (including one pop-up), otherwise the connection will fail and you will have to keep logging on. Speed was relatively quick for a hotel network.
Pool: Was about 40 feet or so long, 3-5 feet deep, and offered a quick cool down from the heat and from being out on the trails in Zion for the day. There was no lifeguard on duty.
Restaurant: See Review for Parallel 88
Things I would like to see improved:
Not Many, the only things I took a minor exception was:
- In the rear of the room, there was a door leading which could be used to access the adjoining room. General noise was heard (somewhat-muffled conversations, TV, hairdryer), it wasn't overbearing, and however, this can be addressed by fixing the door.
- The air conditioner, the air flow from the air conditioner and the position of the window curtains do not match at all. Cold air blowing from the air conditioner went behind the curtain and alongside the window and escaped between the curtain assembly and the window (all within the room). While doing so the curtain would flap excessively thus impairing the device's ability to cool the room quickly.. Management should remedy this issue as soon as possible. (Though I don't remember if I checked to see if I could redirect the air flow).
Overall, with the two minor exceptions, I was more than satisfied with the appearance and service of the hotel room and the facilities and would strongly and without hesitation recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay in Springdale and would give it 4.5 stars out of 5…
