Nice resort in a great setting Mar 25, 2008
The Drakensberg Gardens can be found in the heart of the southern Drakensberg. I rented a spacious cottage higher up the hill. The balcony had a spectacular view of the valley and Drakensberg mountains unto Rhino Horn.
The surrounding nature allows perfect hikes. No dangerous wildlife here, only I got attacked by a firm shower of rain. While soaking wet walking at the side of a desolate road, a big Merc stoppped and offered me a lift back to the resort. The driver appeared to be the CEO for South Africa of a big Dutch beer brand. Baia Dankie, mr. nice guy! The resort has lots to offer. Of course the well situated cottages, but also a pool, a wellness area, a big restaurant, a lounge with view and a golf links. It's a nice place to stay for a few days if you like walking in mountainous areas. Value for money! |

In SA I stayed at the Drakensberg Gardens resort (another great place where to stay is Sani Pass Hotel ) and then went back to Johannesburg after driving along the foot hills of the Drakensberg.
