Colorful cocktail room at La Mariscal - Dragonfly Aug 14, 2009
We were walking around La Mariscal, looking for a place to have dinner. It was a bit early and most of the places were offering happy - hours, but we wouldn't drink. We'd thinking about grabbing a bite, something tasty :)

Then we found this place at Pza. Foch. Actually, we were thinking about the cafe next door, but was crowded, so we ended up going to Dragonfly, which was a good thing. Trying a new place was my motto :)

The location is great, right at busy and fun Pza. Foch. They have some tables inside, but most of them are outdoors. At the plaza there's a big screen and usually they play video musics there. It was a bit chilly, so we decided to go inside. The atmosphere there is cozy and it was warm. It's really colorful and bright inside. Maybe a bit too much. Furniture is comfy and cozy too.

They have happy hours like most of the places in the area from 12m - 6pm and up to 9 there's a DJ playing some music.

Although we didn't have drinks, I checked the menu and they have a good selection of cocktails, but you are in a trendy area, so they are not cheap. So, if you want more than 1 better come during happy hour.

We were getting hungry, but didn't know what to get, so better order appetizers to share.

-Muchines de yuca: Yuca rolls with a cheese dressing. I like the yuca rolls, but the dressing wasn't the best. I'd add more spicy.

-Bolitas de Cangrejo y Camaron: Crab and shrimp balls with chili and soy sauce. Crab balls were covered with sesame seeds. Both were very tasty and served warm. They mixed perfect with the soy sauce. The chili sauce is too much for this dish. Actually it gets better with the yuca rolls.

Although we were full, we ordered something else, hehehe. But would be to share:

-Brocheta Mar y Tierra: Meat & Seafood brochette: chicken, tenderloin, shrimp and sausage accompanied with veggies and potatoes. It was tasty, well grilled. Although the beef was a bit overcooked and I was expecting more shrimps... anyway it was very good.

Service was good, although a bit slow, but at least the girl warned us about that issue. Portions weren't that big but enough, so you won't ruin your appetite and can try something else. Presentation of the dishes is great!

It's not that cheap but not expensive, specially if you are sharing appetizers and go for happy hours. If you decide to stop by, ask for the crab & shrimp balls.
