When visiting Ljubljana, the most striking impression is the funky quarter of Metelkova with an impressive array of wonderful street art, not to be missed. The city centre is quite small, but charming. Everything happens around the famous three bridges and the main square, with the lively restaurants along the river. After strolling around the area, have a break to indulge in Cacao café for a delicious ice cream. The Tivoli park is where the locals go for jogging, cycling, walking the dog, dating and almost everything else! Then at the end of the day, relax with a beer or two (or more!) in one of the many esplanades by the river. Enjoy!

for a magical moment Aug 19, 2011
Ljuljana isn't a big city compare to some others in Europe, and the historical center is small, but so beautiful!

You should try to have a dinner close to the river, a lot of good food, from Mexico or Italy, but you should try one with Slovenian food, and then go to a pub to listen good music with slovenian drink.

The day after, a good idea for the morning is to go up to the castle, avery nice walk, from there you can have a great view on the city.

The afternoon for parcs or museums... you always find something to do in Ljubljana, and slovenian people are so nice ;)

The city center of Ljubljana at night is lovely and beautiful. It could be 9:00 pm and dark out, but the streets are full of families and little kids eating ice cream, visiting friends and family. Music from performers fill the streets and clock towers chime asynchronously around the hour.

On an 8 country tour of Europe, this was one place where I felt truly content and completely happy.

I went to Slovenia in June 2006 on business. We stayed in Ljubljana, which is a very quaint and beautiful city. We were visiting some clients there, so the first night, they took us on a tour of the …downtown Ljubljana. It was really nice to have a local to show us around. Pretty much everyone speaks English there…
