Container Park is a part of the LV Downtown Project, the project of those local like-minded wanting to make Downtown a lively, hip, modern, inviting, alluring for locals and visitors alike. What, ship containers in the desert? Actually an awesome way of creating a new business district fast and as far as I can understand, low cost. Young businesses have really needed this.

I was in town for a visit in November 2013 with a group just in time for the opening day and of course we walked in among the early birds, past the gigantig steel Mantis guarding the gates.

Walk in and you're in a completely new Las Vegas - a tiny town within the city. The colourful containers around a square with a playground are piled on top each other, all required infrastructure installed. You see boutiques, small art galleries, restaurants and even a barber shop and hear music.

On the opening day we visited most open shops & galleries, shopped a little and had a nice bbq lunch at Big Ern's BBQ.

I believe all the live performances, community events, outdoor sports lessons etc. will really give a boost to the area. Great Job!
