A long drive to Valdez is wonderful, Richardson Highway is scenic by way. Another port of Alaska an expensive place to overnight. Researching for accommodation in Valdez was all too expensive. has three hotels in the area, but is way out our budget

We found a few place to stay and own a website. We're more interested on this place because one of the lowest price

Preparing this trip one of the toughest thing we ever done. Searching inexpensive place to sleep seems impossible! a lot of homework to be done if you really looking for affordable place to stay. Alaska in general is expensive for accommodation

Valdez is not very popular, the town itself is very quiet comparing to other towns. But hotel prices are more higher than we expected

The website of Downtown B&B Inn is a bit complicated, if you want to reserve a room you must do it by email or phone. Phone is certainly not our option, Belgium is the most expensive country to call outside

We emailed them, takes a few days and didn't get any reply. So at the end we call them, we ask if they receive our booking email and they did. They hadn't time to reply yet. So while we're on phone we confirmed the booking

The price of room cost 116$ we find it too much for a simple B&B but they're the cheapest in Valdez

Is a four storey house. I remember during my booking they ask which floor we prefer because there is no elevator. So I request a room on the ground floor

When entering the room the wash room is right behind the door the toilet and shower. Simple room and tight with one queen size bed and we got free wifi in room

Breakfast included in summer months and serve between 7 and 9 am we got choice of cereal, toast, muffin coffee and tea. The breakfast room is very spacious than the bedroom itself

A tip: is highly recommended to book a room in advance. A remote place like Valdez however is not very touristy but if you just come here after a very long drive without room reservation the chances are small that you can't find an empty place to stay
