We were only in Dover long enough to catch a ferry to Calais, France. I definitely enjoyed seeing the white cliffs of Dover on our way towards France.

A few friends and I decided to do something different for New Years and spend it in Paris- well we stayed in Saint Denis (Boo) for cheapness but used the metro to get around everyday. It was the best New Years ever, full of drunken fun! Well apart from my friend getting her purse stolen on the metro!

I woke up at 6:15 for a 6:45 meal of Rice Krispies. We had to meet Michael downstairs at 7:15 for our departure to Paris. A few people were late so we were delayed. Soon enough though we were off to Dover where we would catch a ferry to Calais, France. The waters were extremely rough. Plates crashed in the kitchen, transport carts rolled wildly down the halls and slammed into the walls, and the stalls of the bathrooms were filled with people getting sick. I…

With or arrival late the evening before, we got an early start in Dover. A short walk from our lodging at Linden Guest House, brought us right into the city center. We made the rounds, then headed toward the beach where we could get a better look at the famous cliffs. Further on, we took advantage of a tour through Dover Castle. Even through WWII, the castle served a purpose. Providing Churchill and British forces with a base of operations. Both ancient and modern histories were interest…

We arrived at Dover at just after 4pm for the chanel crossing. As we waited we again found ourselves looking at the White Cliffs of Dover, this time is was cold and dark. Check out the Oktoberfest entries for scenic pictures. Thankfully it was a short wait and we got on the 4.30pm ferry bound for Calais.

The ferry is nice - extremely nice. As you can see in the pictures, SeaFrance has got a pretty sweet setup, with plush red chairs facing the windows, a full bar just a few feet behind you, and even a handful of stores. The trip only takes about an hour, so to make the most of it you're better off snagging a chair while they're still available and sending a friend to the bar to get yourselves some drinks. If you spend all your time in the shops, you won't see a thing. The ferry is act…

Well I spose it is time for an update of the 'Days of our Lives' London styles....
It has been now a month and a half since we have been here... and there is a heat wave!!! Who would have thought that London is in the midst of a drought!!! And people can't get enough of the shade, beer, singlets, beer, jandles (or flip flops as they call them) and more beer. So I am not sure if you have all heard that the temp here over the past week has been in the mid to high 30's, therefore making it…
