Douglas Fir Resort and Chalets Banff

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and its been a very good stay. All suites have a fireplace and some with Kitchenettes which is a value because food in Banff can be rather expensive, therefore cooking your own is always a plus.

This hotel is great for couples looking for a quiet weekend, and privacy in the chalets for groups. Very close to many walking paths and approximately 5 kms from the center of Banff.

The staff is friendly (as they are anywhere in Banff) and the rooms where spotless when we returned in the evenings.

Two things that didn't make my top list were the pool and hot tub. They have them on site, but they were currently closed for maintenance. They also need a serious upgrade, safety wise. Banff on the other hand has some amazing public hot pools so visit those while you stay.

As well, the bedding was a little outdated for most typical hotels in Canada. A mattress upgrade was needed. Otherwise, its a great stay for Banff standards and affordability.
