Environmentally friendly with a view of the Petronas Twin Tower Oct 26, 2016
Strategically located within walking distance to downtown Kuala Lumpur. Great view of the Petronas Twin Tower. Amenities were well provided. Gym facilities, sauna room and swimming pool were well maintained. If checked in after 4 pm, guests will be served with cookies and tea or light beverage at the lobby. DoubleTree by Hilton implemented the environmental policy of not cleaning rooms and towels on a daily basis to reduce usage of detergents. Also, the stationeries provided were made from recyclable materials.

very good hotel near KLCC Apr 14, 2013
I stayed here during the F1 Malaysian Grand Prix weekend which I was visiting Malaysia for. There was also a big golf tournament the same weekend so the hotel was very busy. This was my second stay here and this time I booked a king room for six nights. I arrived early around nine in the morning so I had to wait a couple of hours for a room to be available which was fine during such a busy period for the city. Check-in isn't until 3pm so I was actually very grateful to be given a room by 1100am. The staff are very friendly which I found was the case throughout my stay.

The hotel is located across the street from ampang park shopping centre which you can access via a covered walkway. This is very useful, especially if it is raining heavily. Next to the shopping centre is ampang park station where you can get the rail to other areas of the city such as KLCC or KL Sentral. The petronas twin towers are only a 10-15 minute walk away from the hotel so I think these factors give doubletree the thumbs up for its location.

The room was clean and comfortable. When you are inside the room there was very little outside noise which means that they are well soundproofed. The air conditioner in the room was a little noisy but didn't have a negative impact on my stay. It was good being able to adjust the temperature on the air conditioner because I found it a little too cool when I first got to my room, but you can change it to whatever best suits you. The best feature of the room for me was the bathroom. It was very clean, they provide complimentary crabtree and evelyn toiletries. The rain shower is very good and the hot water works straight away.

I had to use the business centre during my stay to check in online for my flight home and print my boarding pass. There are charges for various things in the business centre however I was only on the computer for 10 minutes and only printed one thing so they let me have this time for free which was a nice thought.

Next to the reception area there is the axis lounge. This is a nice area to relax during the day or at night time. After nine o'clock a live jazz band play. The music is nice and relaxing and I think they play monday to saturdays. You don't have to leave your seat to order drinks from the bar and being a guest in the hotel you can just get the bill put on your room account.

On the day I checked out I left my main luggage with the concierge. My flight out of Kuala Lumpur was very late so it was essential not to have to worry about that all day. Another useful service was the complimentary shuttle service to certain parts of the city. Take note that this shuttle has a restricted schedule and doesn't take you somewhere whenever you want but if you pick up a copy of the shuttle timetable when you check in I'm sure you can make use of it like I did. I used it a few times to take me to the petronas twin towers if I didn't fancy walking in the heat and I used it to get to pavillion shopping mall in bukit bintang.

Overall I was very happy with my stay. When I decide how to rate a hotel I look at four key factors - the price, the location, the level of service and how comfortable the room was. Doubletree by Hilton KL scores good on all of these for me so I hope I will get to stay here again in the future.

Good Value for Business or Pleasure Dec 14, 2013
The property still has a new feel to it and the service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere in the Club Lounge and the restaurant is first rate. Service is quick and the staff seem happy to help. The property is located about 15-20 minutes walk to the Petronas Twin Towers and a slightly longer stroll to Bukit Bintang. There is a taxi rank outside, but there can be long waits at busy times. As is common in KL some drivers want to haggle a fare and refuse to use the meter. Other hotels do a better job weeding out these bad eggs.

As a Hilton Honours Diamond member, I felt I received VIP service, so my review may be slightly more favourable because of this.

My First Doubletree Feb 13, 2011
Searching for an great place to stay in the heart of KL wasn't easy as it looks considering I had a horrible exprience the last time I was in KL. When I saw that Hilton had just renovated a hotel in KL then I definitely had to try it since they were offering the rooms as discounted prices. Well searching for the entrance of the hotel proved a bit of a challenge for my cab driver but nevertheless we found it. During the time I stayed here the hotel was newly renovated you could actually smell the fresh paint which wasn't that bad. It was actually gave me nice feeling to know that I was the first person to ever use that room. Having worked in the hotel industry for quite sometime I couldn't help but be critical on details. I really loved the little note they placed on my pillow with a quote from Mother Theresa. It made my stay much more personal and unforgettable. Having just come from the Maldives I really didn't care much for the pool although it was beautiful. I stayed here for only 2 nights but I wish I got to stay longer since most of the time I was out shopping at KLCC. This hotel gave me good memories of Kuala Lumpur and I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back. I'm glad to have been one of the hotel's first guests. By the way, I really like the see-through bathroom.

doubletree by hilton kuala lumpur Nov 27, 2011
i stayed at the double tree by Hilton kuala lumpur a few months ago.where i met my first travbuddy meet-up and a great bunch of Malaysian .OK this is about the hotel lol . it was very easy to get to from the it was 1 stop away from central station(or the main station where the bus brings you ) i was greeted with the same Hilton welcome i always get.and of course they gave me 2 of the famous chocolate chip coOKies . the views from my room were amazing -i open the door and there were the Petronia's twin towers loOKing right at me. and the view of the city was amazing.thur my hotel room window you could see the mountains and the beauty of malaysia.the Petronia's twin towers and the convention center are a 10 minute walk and you are only a few minutes walk to the am pang stop for the lrt metro station.they have 5 or 6 different dining options and also offer complimentary shuttle service to the shopping areas.but after a long day there's nothing like laying on the Hilton famous sweet dreams bedding . i love this hotel and will stay here in the next few weeks. its about 80.00 but after staying on some harder beds in Asia .i loOK forward to a Hilton bed .

Once for a while luxury in Kuala Lumpur Oct 20, 2011
Once for a while everyone needs some luxury whereever they go... Well I only enjoys my luxury when I dont have to pay for it! haha.

I was in KL for business and company put me up in this hotel as the seminar is held there itself.

I was very satisfied with the service expecially when I was upgraded into their Executive rooms!!

You will be welcome with their freshly baked Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Its 5 minutes walk from Ampark Park train station and just next to Ampang Park Mall. 15 minutes walk to KLCC.

Plush city-center Hilton Standard Apr 27, 2011
Visited this hotel a few weeks after opening July 2010- Despite being crazily empty the hotel was amazing! Every floor and hallway was immaculate and apart from the sterile first floor (unfurnished when I was there), it also had very stylish decor and comfortable furniture. The rooms were extremely nice, very comfortable beds in true Hilton style, and the meals were amazing- a delicious Pan-Asian buffet with a variety of interesting and authentic tasting dishes. I especially liked the Indian selection! The pricing would have been restricting were it not for my family's Hilton points; it is a very expensive place to stay, but it definitely didn't fall short of my expectations considering the price.

Trial Run Jan 16, 2011
We stayed on their opening 1/2 price promo offer. Our room had good view of the city (Petronas Twin Towers) and in walking distance of a mall with supermarket and LRT station nearby. Breakfast buffet was very nice too at a classy setting that would be a Malay restaurant by lunch. It's nice to chill at the pool (though a bit cooler when it's shaded away from the sun). Everything are new and clean.

As of Oct 2010, their mall and office building was still under construction. You can't hear from the rooms of course, but a bit loud at the lobby. Then the drainage got caught up when the 2nd person went into the shower... I hope they had all these fixed by the time you visit!

It was an average experience Nov 29, 2008
We stayed at this hotel for five nights, arriving at morning. We've already booked hotel rooms through internet. The white building could be seen from a far distance, looks nice and tall. You can see the building but you just cant find the entrance. Just dont understand why the main entrance is via an tiny narrow back lane...

The checking in and was a bit slow. The room was quite big, no problems with the bed or bathroom. Although, the bathroom could use a little renovation. They claim themsleves 5 star, and price a bit expensive but I'll rate them 3 or 3 and half star. The bedding was clean although the spare pillow in the wardrobe. A bowl of fruit was on the coffee table but the fridge was empty. The digital locker in wardrobe was out of order.

The hotel occupies the upper storeys of a 15 year old building and the whole block is badly in need of some maintenance. The lower floors house what is left of a shopping centre. Half the shops have now moved on and many units are lying empty. There is a 7 Eleven which was handy for buying some eatable stuff. Breakfast is served in this lounge for Club guests and was adequate with the eggs being cooked freshly to order. The pool of this hotel was ok. The Club Room allowed us access to the Club Lounge on the top floor. Here one could use internet and complementary beverages served there.

The best thing of this hotel was its location easily approchable. So far as location goes the hotel is within walking distance of the KLCC and only a short and cheap taxi ride from most of the other main areas. Another thing which i liked was view of twin tower and city from my room
