Asian district, in need of renovation Feb 19, 2017
During the rest of our stay in NYC, we checked into DoubleTree by Hilton NYC - Chelsea twice: for NYE and after we came back from Philadelphia.

Located at 29th Street, I consider this a bit of an "Asian district" as the street is packed with either Indian or Chinese shops. We did not go to any of these shops.

The first time we checked into this hotel was to avoid the crowd in Times Square (We had earlier checked into Hilton Garden Inn Times Square on Xmas).

Pros:

Walking distance to subway

Breakfast options nearby (Pret A Manger at the end of the street)

Quiet street and far from the maddening crowd of Times Square

Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries (complimentary)

Free coffee & tea making facilities but i think the tea was so old (my tea was so super dark) and the machine was not clean properly

Free use of the computer in the basement to print stuff (complimentary)

Free cookies on check-in

Staff at reception is better than Hilton Garden Inn

Cons:

This hotel is in need of a renovation, the building looks old and the furnitures are old

Only 2 lifts to serve so many floors (during our first stay we were on the 8th floor, during our second stay we were on the 5th floor) so you will always have to wait for the next lift

No complimentary breakfast

Our 8th floor room is slightly bigger from the 5th floor room. You can see the difference from the pictures I have posted.
