Our favorite is Dos Tejanos Restaurant, right across the street from Central Park in the Pasaje Enriquez. This is the cleanest restaurant in Quetzaltenango("Xela"). It is probably the cleanest place in Xela. I loved the sink to wash up right as you walk in.
Besides extremely clean, the food was delicious. My son loved the chili. I loved the burrito. It is Tex/Mex food and very good at that. Another "must" in my book.

I’ve been going to Spanish school in Guatemala for only a couple of weeks, but I would like to make a few comments about a new ‘watering hole’ I found in Quetzaltenango (the natives call it ‘Xela’). “Dos Tejanos”, in the Pasaje Enriquez (across from Central Park), must be the newest addition to the landscape of the old city. Being from the US Southwest, I pride myself on knowing good food and hospitality. “Dos Tejanos” has BOTH. It’s a great place to meet the local populace, foreign tourists and fellow students. And they put out big platters of what we call like to call ‘TexMex groceries’. Good eats! If you see a red headed stranger, say ‘howdy’ to me, Frank.

Hideous food, precocious surroundings, lifeless staff, ignorant owners, no atmosphere, and a racist flag outside...just about sums this dump up.

My shockingly expensive 'meal' was dropped (literally) in front of me in a plastic basket lined with greaseproof paper.
I say meal, but I didn´t get my 'side-salad' until I´d asked for it 3 times.
I say side-salad but it was 3 rings of raw onion and a halved cherry tomato.

I soon found out the reason for the greaseproof paper and stopped off at the car-wash on the way home to get my hands pressure-washed.

Hopefully the people of Xela will come to understands the racist connotations of the flag outside the 'restaurant' and close it down before anyone else has the misfortune to go here.

Dos Tejanos… yes, Dos Tejanos would like to thank you for your “satirical revue” of our fine restaurant. With revues such as yours, much curiosity and interest has been generated in our new enterprise… making Dos Tejanos the fastest growing and most popular restaurant in the Centro Historico of Quetzaltenango. Being in Pasaje Enriquez, one of the oldest and most prestigious buildings in the city, just adds to its charm. In addition to the many local Citizens who have found a new menu, tourists from throughout the world are finding Dos Tejanos the best place in Xela for fine food and drinks. Dos Tejanos appreciates the time you took to “revue” our great new restaurant. You are welcome any time.
