Doors of Dublin Feb 28, 2008
I was amazed how these doors can attract tourists. Almost all the doors in the center of Dublin are painted with different attractive colors and I can't help but take pictures. I later found out that these are one of the tourist attractions here, there are postcards showcasing these doors as well as jigsaw puzzles.
The best way to see these doors, is to walk around the city.. You will be delighted with the colorful doors you see =D |

Colorful and unique Jun 07, 2005
Homes in Dublin are built exactly the same, as row houses, and the only real way to tell them apart is to make some bit of detail difference to the front porch and door. A few people have added small stoops or ornate detailing around the door, others have simply painted their door to be colorful and beautiful. But each and nearly every one we saw had a marvelous difference to the one next door. All as varied as the imagination can picture. I don’t think there is another town in the world where the doors have become so famous. Make sure you pay attention in Dublin, it is very worthwhile. And it is free!

Colorful Doors Jun 07, 2005
Because of the way the homes in Dublin are built, as row housing, the only way that the owners have to make them look different is with changes in the small amounts of trim and doors. But the people of Dublin have done a wonderful job of individualizing their homes, so much so that the “Doors of Dublin” are world famous. On our tour of Dublin we were privileged to see many of them. The door colors are wonderful and as varied as you can imagine, and the trim areas are also well detailed and quite individualized. This is one of the free things to do while you are in Dublin - - - pay attention the these world famous doors!

The 2 ladies had a bottle of red wine each which we shared while waiting until the doors got open. Suddenly Peter Buck (the guitar player) accompanied by the manager Bertis Downs and the other guitar player Scott McCaughey arrived. They stopped by us and chatted a bit. Then they went to the stage entrance and disappeared. We were thrilled. Finally the doors… The day of the days |

" But before the sentence was even completed, there was a knock onthe door. As Jason opened the door we saw two old, hairy, yet one was balding, guys from Italy who were way too old to be staying at a hostel. We were so disappointed because they were the last people we would have wanted as roommates… Temple Bar Area and Hairy Roomies |

Dublin, dag 3 |

One weird thing about this hostel is that there is only one key per room and you have to open the door for those coming in. Since the French girls were sleeping and the German was snoring away, I assumed the position of doorman. Just as I was about to fall asleep I heard a knock. I got up and answered wearing nothing except my boxers… Takin' it Easy |

It was called the Oliver Saint
John Gogarty, and I was excited about the music, so I went inside and
stood by the door, and listened to the people play. In Ireland there is
also no smoking inside. I'm definitely living in the wrong country, I
guess. Anyway, that was a nice 10 minutes or so, but I was starting to
feel weird standing by myself by the door… A final wandering about |
