Don't use Sunquest Vacations
Don't use Sunquest Vacations Reviews
SunQuest Vacations uses unfair business practices May 21, 2009
Fellow travelers, I am writing to let you all know about my personal experiences with SunQuest vacations, and how they dealt with the evacuation of Canadians from Mexico, due to the H1N1 virus. Let me begin... My girlfriend and I saved and planned for a two week vacation in Puerto Vallarta, for a destination wedding. The wedding happened, just barely... but I wander... Before leaving Canada we learned of the "swine flu" in Mexico, after inquiring about our vacation we were told, by Sunquest that our vacation would not be affected, so they sent us down. We were having a great time until day 5 when we heard (not from the hotel or the Sunquest representatives) that we were to be evacuated back to Canada. At this point we were also informed that Mexico would be shutting down all non-essential services across the country leaving us stranded at the resort. Over the next four days, instead of getting us out of there, Sunquest left us in Mexico to be refugees in a deserted resort. The food was recycled, the ammenities were closed, and there was nothing to do... not what we paid for. This continued as they shipped us from hotel to hotel to the airport (which they made us spend a whole day in), which they finally let us leave. 5 days after hearing about being evacuated. Even at this point I still believed that Sunquest would take care of it when we got home... this did not happen. Long story short... We missed 8 days of vacation (more then half of the trip), got treated like cattle, were packed on planes with infected people, and then OFFERED $200 TRAVEL VOUCHERS FOR MISSING 8 DAYS ALL INCLUSIVE IN MEXICO. Not only this, NO ONE FROM SUNQUEST WILL TALK TO US, AND THEY REFUUSE TO EVEN REIMBURSE THE FULL 5 DAYS THEY CLAIM THAT WE LOST. Anyways, I just want to get the word out on just how this company (SUNQUEST) has dealt with (or not dealt with) this situation. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND I ENCOURAGE YOU NOT TO EITHER.
