Don't expect a cheap holiday in Vanuatu Reviews

Vanuatu is a lovely country and the people are amazing but it is definitely not a cheap holiday destination. Flights are inexpensive but you'll pay a lot for food, reasonable accommodation and activities. Lots of fun to be had but you'll need to budget a decent amount of money to do it. If you've got time you can normally find a cheaper way to do all the activities by getting one of the local bus drivers to take you out to things with the exception of diving)

The bus service is excellent and definitely a recommended way of getting around.

Santo is lovely with so much to do there and is definitely a recommended part of your holiday. The Millenium Caves were an awesome experience as was the night dive on the Coolidge, Champagne Beach and the snorkelling at Million Dollar Point.

We didn't get down to Tanna but heard great things about it from everyone who did.

The Santo steak (if that is your thing) is great there so you should try it some where nice (like Les Alizes just out of Port Vila.

Watch drinking water out of the taps - they say it is okay to drink but just about everyone I talked to had a bad belly for at least a few days.

Thanks for the review. Don't know much about Vanuatu...why is it so expensive? Just a big tourist destination? Seems fairly out of the way.
