Domus Maria
Domus Maria Reviews
Good location in the old town Vilnius Aug 21, 2009
This hotel was recommended by Lonely Planet however I don´t think it is so special. It is true that there is some history around it and it is very well located, but I don´t think was worth the money we paid. Almost everything in Lithuania is very cheap, and this hotel cost us 79 Euros per night. It is located right next to the Gate of Dawn (Ausros Vartai)
It is an old Carmelita monastery and there are four buildings forming a square with a nice patio right in the middle. The room is clean but the beds are quite tiny. The rest of furniture was just basic and had nothing special. The shower was ok. There is free Internet but you have to ask for the cable in the reception. I guess that they wanted to preserve the architecture and old style. Breakfast was all right although I don´t think they serve typical food as we had everything we are used to in any hotel in Spain. We had some deli, yogurts, bread, marmalades, and coffee… (Continental breakfast). Part of the Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland travel blog |
