Don't judge a book..... Jun 03, 2011
I stayed in Rome for the June bank holiday weekend, 2011. We stayed from Friday to Monday (3 nights) and paid €364 for a twin room en-suite including breakfast.

We got to the hotel at about 9pm and my first thought was "Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into!". The entrance is a communal door on a very narrow street, behind which is an old marble staircase. But once we climbed the two flights up (no lift, so not suitable for people with limited mobility) and got to the reception area, it was actually lovely!

Our room was very spacious, with two single beds, a wardrobe, a spare fold away bed, a desk, television and mini bar, and a full en-suite bathroom with toilet, shower, bidet and sink. Our two windows looked out onto a shaft running up between the neighbouring buildings, not exaclty stunning views!

Breakfast was served in the room; standard fare of tea/coffee, juice, croissants and the local bread (a crusty ciabatta) jams/nutella etc.

The beds were very comfortable, and the room was air conditioned; a God send in the 34C heat!

Location wise - we were just one minutes walk from the Ponte Sisto, 15 mins to Colusseum, 20 mins to Vatican. The Piazzo Campo di Fiori was just around the corner from the hotel. But unless you're on a very tight schedule, just wander around... you'll be suprised what you stumble upon!

The staff were very pleasant and we didn't have a single problem our whole stay. The only drawback was the noise, but noise is pretty much unavoidable in Rome!
