There is a very strange story behind this destination. I went to Dominican twice and was told that I would see my father in my dreams when I got there. My father died of lung cancer the previous June. For 2 weeks before he died, two finches(birds) would tap on the window all…

For my birthday my mom decided to give me a very nice gift. She paid for my best friend to visit me from Las Vegas and spend the weekend with me. She had never come here before so >I was very exited to show her around. She came Friday the 18 and left Tuesday the 22. It was only 4 days but we had too much fun! Hope you enjoy the pictures...I will be putting more after she e-mails me the rest!

Although I was only there in March this year I knew I would be back, I just didn't think it would be this soon. The locals promised better surf at this time, baseball season just started, and I could sneak over to Haiti. It's cool when you go back somewhere and everyone truly remembers you. I love this little surf spot far from the 5-star resorts and scary tourists.

Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. I have never seen water so blue before, or sand so pure white and soft. It was gorgeous. The hotel I stayed at--the Occidental Flamenco Bavaro, was luxurious and exciting, filled with endless things to do. The po…

One of my great impressions of the DR is that most everyone seemed to be quite happy with life. Lots of big smiles from people and laughter could be heard around every corner (as well as the shuffling and clickity-clacking of domino tiles). I've never seen a place with so many locals just.. hangin …

I spent grad school spring break with 29 of my closest friends in the Dominican Republic this year. The resort, Barcelo Bavaro Beach, wasn't much to write home about, but it was amazing to be on the beach for a week and away from snowy Boston! (And pretty good value for the small price we paid...)
Mostly pictures, but if you have questions about the resort, feel free to ask!
