Dolphin Stadium Miami Gardens Reviews
Not a good place for baseball Aug 29, 2008
Dolphin Stadium (as the name indicates) is originally built for football only, and not one of those multi-purpose stadiums. Entering the stadium, there is so much Dolphin history around, along with the orange seats, which is a color associated with the Dolphins.
Watching a Marlins game here, one can understand why attendance at these games are very low. For starters, the location of the stadium, being about 40 minutes away from downtown Miami, in a residential area, with no public transportation to get there and back. When I asked one of the hostel staffs how to get there by public transportation, he had no idea. A car is a must.
And there is the issue of the weather, which is almost hot and humid during most of the baseball season. Even the breeze does not provide relief at all.
Overall, the worst place to watch baseball, and one that does not have to be seen before the Marlins move to a new stadium in a few years.
Perhaps it's different for football. I'll have to attend one to find out someday.
Note: I'm aware that the stadium has had a name change since my visit. This review will refer to as "Dolphin Stadium".
