A Mosque next to Dolmabahçe Palace Jun 04, 2017
Dolmabahçe Mosque is located in front of Dolmabahçe Palace, with a clock tower between them, as a part of the palace complex.

The structure was commissioned by Bezmi Alem Valide Sultan, queen mother of Sultan Abdülmecid. After she died, he continued to support the construction of the mosque. The mosque was designed in imperial style by Garabet Balyan and finished in 1855.

The mosque is interesting for its clear setup and geometry. The geometry dominant design is one of the most integral archetypes of empirical style of Neoclassism in the 19th century.

The mosque has two minarets with a single balcony and a single dome resting on a square floor. The interior is decorated with colorful marble.
