Dolly Dimple's Bergen Reviews
Fill Your Boots Apr 29, 2010
Dolly Dimple's is a pizza restaurant, on the main Torgalmenningen street, that runs along from the Fishmarket, and it is on the opposite corner from McDonalds.
Expensive it might be, but not compared to a lot of other places, even McDonalds was about £10 for a burger, and this place looked nicer.
Also seemed appropriate, for those of you who know cockney rhyming slang :D
They advertised,in the window, a pizza buffet for 99NOK (£12), so we decided to go for that. Went up to the counter on the gound floor, but that is where they do the takeaways, and we were directed upstairs.
At the top of the stairs, right in the middle, was a sign saying wait to be seated, and even although it wasn't particularly busy we did seem to wait longer than was necessary.
Eventually waitress came over and we were seated, told her we wanted the buffet and she took the orders for the one drink each that was included in the price.
Restaurant was nicely furnished and bright, with large windows all the way round the building.
Pizzas were put out on the buffet table two at a time and were replaced as each one was finished. Didn't seem to be any particular method to what they put out, but they were OK.
Although we went for the buffet, there was a menu so that you could order which ever variety of pizza you particularly desired.
As I said it did seem expensive, but everything in Norway is, so the five of us stuffed ourselves full of pizza until we could eat no more.
May not be the healthiest option, but certainly proved cost effective, as by the time it came to dinner nobody was particularly hungry :D
Part of a chain, so you will also find Dolly Dimple's in other Norwegian towns and cities
