Dog Bark Park Inn Cottonwood Reviews
Dog Bark Park Inn Jun 08, 2010
If you want an experience like no other, than head on over to the Dog Bark Park Inn! I really love this place. No, I REALLY love this place! The Dog Bark Park consists of a large Beagle called Sweet Willy and his 12 foot friend Toby. You get to stay in Sweet Willy. Yes, you stay inside the large beagle. Hands down this falls into the top three best hotels I have stayed in.
The Dog Bark Park Inn is in Cottonwood, Idaho on the Camas Prairie in Central Idaho. It’s in a small town and not really close to any large cities or major attractions, but that is what makes it even better. Willy is the main attraction! There are no modern distractions such as TV or internet. My friend and I had a great time playing Scrabble, snacking and reminiscing about childhood fun. There is a porch where you can watch the sunset and enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, we were on our road trip during one of the soggiest springs in the history of the Northwest so we had to stay inside due to rain.
The Inn is run by the sweetest most hospitable couple Dennis and Frances who happen to be chainsaw artists. How cool is that! They really made us feel at home and have the best dog ever helping them in the wood studio which is connected to the gift shop.
Willy itself is quite amazing. The whole beagle is decorated with doggy decor and is extremely clean and inviting. In the head of the dog is a smaller room for children while in the stomach of Willy is the main room/master bedroom plus a small kitchenette. In the back of Willy is, you guessed it, the bathroom.
Along with a comfortable nights stay, you also get a pre-made breakfast and snacks in case you get hungry during the night. Again, amazing! Also, if you have a dog, no problem as they are completely welcome as well. Be aware that because there is only one patron per night you may want to make reservations early as your night may be booked already.
This place is so unique, I can’t wait to find an excuse to go back to Central Idaho just to go back and see that sunset that I missed the first time!
