Doña Conchi Granada Reviews
Good but not best May 12, 2010
The Doña Conchi is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Granada; we tried to find it at the address given in Lonely Planet but it turned out that it had moved to Calle la Libertad and almost next to our hotel the El Club.
From outside the only thing indicating that there is a good restaurant is a handmade sign stating that this is the place for the best food in town. I must say that we had passed the entrance to the restaurant without even noticing that it was a restaurant situated there.
Once you have passed the long entrance which is covered in plants and different palm trees you enter a wonderful restaurant area. The atmosphere is casual, exotic and almost Caribbean. The chairs and tables are raw wood but colourful pillows and art effects together with exotic plants gives this combines open and roof covered place a wonderful feeling.
The waiters are not the fastest in the world and I am sure they forgot our order because from the sweet sangria we took as an aperitif and to the good shrimps we had for a starter it took more than an hour. The main course I had which was chicken in rum sauce with the mandatory rice and chips was quite tasty as well.
The price was fair being for a restaurant that dares to state that it is the best restaurant in town.
