A great tast of the South in the middle of the Pacific Mar 15, 2008
Dixie Grill (Bar-B-Q and Crab Shack)in Aiea just a short distance from Pearl Harbor and the stadium is a great place to get good southern (USA) cooking while still in Hawaii. The have seating both inside and out and a menu that can take some time to decide. The menu boasts a wide variety of food from seafood, to cajun food, to good burgers. They have some of the best sauces that can be sampled while you are waiting for your food. The best part is they sell the sauces too!! Dixie Grill is a great afternoon or afterwork stop for Happy Hour style converstaion and tastey Poo Poo's (appetizers). This seems to be a popular stop for the mainlanders that live here especially on Friday afternoons. I have eaten here several times and they are always busy. There is planty of staff on hand and busy does not mean forgotten. The atmosphere is very casual and the bar has a wide variety of drinks available. If you have a chance to get to Dixie Grill and looking for something different to drink order a screaming Mai Tai. If you don't order one you will at least know when somebody else does!
