Holy momma, after a 25 hour day I can sleep. Todays Today´s flight and passage to mexico has done nothing to diminish the life at a slow pace culture that latin peope are often remarked upon. Although todays problems are more related to BA´s incompetence a missed flight from Mexico City to Cancun and its related stress was only compounded upon  by the shrugged shoulders and blank expresions of airport staff, oh que cera cera. Add to this I had been crammed in next to mother and baby to...

First time south of the border and we've decided to hit Mexico City instead of the crowded US tourist packed beach resort areas. Of course that wasn't the only reason - but it was a good one to start off. Soon, we found ourselves wanting to see more of the Spanish Baroque architecture more than anything else on offer in Mexico.

....so after a sad goodbye at LAX, we jumped on the plane headed south. we nervously made it thru customs, trying our pathetic best to use whatever spanish we new to get us through (none). Found a cab, then our hostel - a nice renovated hotel in the centro historico. and what made it even better was the fact it was only $10 a night! ...i´m slowly getting used to the spanish keyboards, so excuse the poor punctuation. First impressions of Mejico City are all good... when you win the...

Well so far so good... no stolen wallets, loose bowel movements, or kidnapped Rob/Dylan. Our journey began in snowy and cold Regina, SK...we caught a ride with Dylans cousins to Calgary to head to Mexico City. We arrived in Mexico City in the late afternoon on the 28th, and were picked up by our excellent temporary host and amiga Iza, we relaxed that night and had some brewskies with her dad. He is awesome and cooked lots of good and spicy, oh hell was it spicy, food for us, he also gave us 2...

Well I headed down to Mexico for my first time, to visit a couple of friends, mainly Iza and Victor, and had a helluva time. Started out in chilly Regina, made my way to Toronto and onto Mexico City. I was greeted at the airport by Iza and headed to her and Victor's University, as she had to hand in an assignment. Her university is a nun's convent from the time of the conquistadors, so it was very old, but well kept and very beautiful, not like a university you could find in Canada. After tha...

Welcome to my lovely circuit around the Latin world. I designed the trip around seeing a few of the rare wonders of the world that few people ever imagine experiencing. I hope you enjoy a vicarious thrill by following my short trip through the west coast of our Spanish speaking neighbors.

Landed in Mexcio City Wednesday 1st August , after flight via LA and multiple security checks. We spent 3 nights in Mexico City as we have to come back at the end of the month to fly to LA. I instantly liked the vibe and atmoshere and recognised this is a City I could spend a lot more time in. There is always so much going on in the streets with food stalls and markets and performers.  People in Aztec tribes costumes with brightly coloured head dresses drumming and d...

We were going through customs as we were passing through Mexico City and a security person took our daughters iPod out of her backpack. My husband saw it, and confronted the guard. The guard denied it, and refused to show my husband his hands. We went through the doors, and my husband came back and confronted the guard again - and amazingly, the iPod miraculously appeared on the conveyor belt. WOW were we lucky!!!
