Dirty Winkels to touristy clubs

If you are looking for a nice, safe, tourist trap, don't follow this advice.

OK, start out at one of the many chinese owned convenience stores. My favorite is ying ha on Coppenamestraat. Have yourself a Djugo(1 liter of parbo beer) for 7.50srd. then make your way down to the Garden bar on dominestraat for a "better" atmoshpere with a raise in price to 9 srd per djugo otr about 7srd per drink. You can finish the night off near the waterfront on the Suriname river. There are 2 areas called VaterKant. One is full of clubs that average about 20srd cover charge. The other is right on the river with pool, foozball, 9srd djugo's.

Last but not least is the infamous 5star club. This place you definately want to bring a friend but it;s the REAL Suriname. A frisk is required but cover is usually only 5srd. It is very unlikely you will see any tourists in this place. Surinamese are very accepting, so you shouldn't feel too out of place. Music is usally reggae and hip-hop. the dancefloor is behind a big black curtain where you may also get high by just walking in to. Personally i love this place just because you know you are seeing the real thing.
