Dilara-Hanum Mini Hotel Bakhchysarai Reviews
Family Run Hotel Near All the Sites Apr 28, 2011
Dilara-Hanum mini-hotel is run by a Tatar family; the owner is of course named Dilara.
The guesthouse is made up of a complex of buildings separated by gardens and courtyards, perched atop a hill overlooking historic Bakhchysarai. There are a total of 10 rooms that can hold at least three people per room. Room rates range from $10 and $20 per night (per person). You can also make arrangements to have meals included in the price.
We stayed in a triple room on the second story of the guesthouse’s main building. From here there was a fantastic view of the city and the wind carved cliff walls circling Bakhchysarai. Below our room was a common room with a kitchen, wifi and ping pong. We were the only ones in the guesthouse and after 7 days of hiking we were not in the mood to cook our own dinner so we didn’t spend too much time in the common room, but it had definite potential as a place to chill and meet new people.
The only downside to our room was that there was a slight odor coming from the bathroom…it seemed to be something emanating from the septic tanks. Not terrible but noticeable when you first walk in.
I give Dilara-Hanum two thumbs up. Here are some of the best features:Family owned and run (by an extremely friendly and helpful family); Affordable ($10-$20 per person); Short walk to Khan’s Palace and other sites (albeit up hill); Great view; Clean and comfortable; Nice social room with a kitchen (stocked with coffee and tea for the guests).
