Digress Soho Travel Reviews

Jan 21, 2008
Unless you want to be listening to Robbie Williams and dancing with an Elvis impersonator on a saturday night, i wouldn't recommend this bar at all.

We only went there as this girl we were queuing up with in Abacus said the queues there would be shorter. I know why!

It was already hitting midnight and we just needed a dancefloor, and we weren't going to be queing up outside abacus for god knows how long, so we decided to head to Oxford Street like the girl told us to. We did go to Apt first, but it was asian night, and we weren't too fond of the crowds, so then we went Reflex, but thats like an 80's club, and we definitely weren't dressed for the part (having just come back from a cabaret), so we went to Abacus (only a short walk away), where the queues were ridiculous, and so we decided on Revolution, but that was worse then Abacus, so we ended up taking the girls advice.

Erm, Digress in Oxford Street? If she'd told us it was called Digress SOHO, maybe we would have figured she'd given us the wrong directions! So off it was asking randomers for directions to Digress. They had no idea. Eventually someone led us to Regent Street, but we still couldn't find it so it was off to find a rickshaw man, who cycled us there! I love london!

We got there and then had to wait ages because it was too full. We did get in half an hour later, paid a fiver each, and then it was off to get some shots down us. Drinks prices were pretty reasonable for a west end bar.

The place was packed out surprisingly. The music was really bad, there was no air con, and everyone was really wierd!
But being us as usual, couldn't be bothered to find another place (note it was about 2am at the time), so we just decided to dance the night away, until we got pretty smashed and thought it best to go home before one of us passed out. Plus Dilsana wasn't around so we were relying on Shola to get us home!

Apparently, there's a Digress City, right near liverpool St, and apparently it's pretty good. Well all i can say is that i wont judge the City one, but the Soho one was absolutely dire.

sarahelaine says: I love this bar! It's in camden, for a start. It's an easy lurch from the high street and the tube. It has two for one cocktails for two hours on weeknights. Can't go wrong! Aside from one of the most extensive cocktail menus I have ever seen- six kinds of everything including one called "sorry ...
krissynae says: This is not how I remember Mary Poppins the movie. This play was amazing. Well worth seeing where ever it is playing. I would not recommend it for the littler theater goers because there are some loud and scary parts. The first half of the play is a lot like the movie the second half is where the ad...
peppertm says: Located in Shepherd’s Bush (this isn’t the only one in London), this is an Australian bar that brings in live bands. The atmosphere is really laid-back and cool, with two floors and a bar on each, with wooden floors and dimmed lighting. Once the band starts, though, get ready for a night of da...
