Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain London Reviews
Poignant visit Mar 16, 2011
Located within Hyde Park, this memorial needs little introduction. Constructed in memory of the late Princess of Wales, the water feature is a lovely and touching feature within the area.
The park has always been synonymous with royalty since the Tudor period, and the water feature is very different to the Serpentine lake.
The water feature is designed as a circle, which looks a little like a necklace from above. The water goes right around the feature, and the pace changes in intensity and direction at various stages. For the more poetic visitors, I imagine the differences in water flow reflect the various stages of Diana’s life. However, the memorial is far from sombre. It is a quiet and respectful place, and the water is actually rather calming.
I think this is a rather poignant feature for Diana as well as Hyde Park itself. Definitely worth a quick visit if you are nearby.
