Rajasthani folk dancing Jul 29, 2011
At 7 pm there is a daily typical Rajasthani Folk Dancing show in the 17th century Bagore-ki-Haveli. It's actually outside in kind of a courtyard under a big tree. That gives it a cozy feeling in this silent environment. The show is quite cheap and definitely worth a visit when you are visiting Udaipur.
We went there 15 minutes before the show started. They charge you extra for a camera or video. We were told to be on time, so we were sure to get a good place to see the show.
There were people making traditional music and different kind of typical dances were shown. Like some men acting like they were riding on each other as being a horse with a medicine man. Furthermore there were a lot of women in the most beautiful colours dancing together in difficult positions and with pots on their head. Also there was a man who used marionette puppets that he let dancing for us. One female puppet with a nice Indian dress and a male that could throw is head off and on, which was a little bit weird but funny to see!
All in all definitely a must when you're in Udaipur.
