Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, sometimes called Detroit Metro Airport, DTW, is a major international airport in Romulus, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. It is Michigan's busiest airport. It is also the largest hub of Northwest Airlines, which was our flight from London’s Gatwick Airport. We got to find out just how large it was because our inbound flight landed and dropped us at a gate at one end of the terminal and we had to make our way to the total opposite end to make our outbound flight on to Los Angeles. Luckily, we had plenty of time, even without a nice hand cart we had used at Amsterdam. So with one large suitcase with a broken wheel we dragged it along from one end to the other. They had a nice place to purchase snacks and soft drinks, so we had a small bite while we waited. Good thing, the flight on to Los Angeles, like the flight from London, didn’t offer any food.
