Detroit Lakes, MN is a small town about an hour to the east of Fargo, ND. There are 412 lakes in a 25 mile radius of D.L. with many people from the Twin Cities and Fargo coming down for summer weekends.
In between Lakes Melissa and Sallie is an area of land known as Shoreham. This area is the local hangout all weekend long while not on the water.
