Arriving in Destin
posted by:
Oct 18, 2003 – Oct 21, 2003
This day would prove to be the day we caught something big enough to weigh in! After two days of catching nice but unqualifying fish, I landed a 23lb. barracuda and Cathi caught a nice dorado (mahi-mahi or bull dolphin). Though we didn't have big enough fish to place by the end of weigh-in. We stil…

Getting up early, we headed out and started fishing. We wouldn't hit the fish as hard today, but we'd catch a couple good ones. Dad caught a nice red snapper and I caught a fair spanish mackerel. By days end, after some bottom fishing and trolling, we went back to AJ's for weigh in and proferr…

We ran across a quaint little seaside village called Watercolor that I absolutely fell in love with.  It had many little shops, beachside bars and pubs, very bike friendly, and a wonderful atmosphere all around.  All the seaside cottages are various pastel colors with abundant bike trails…

The second day of work was on a Saturday.  We started at 6 AM, but we were done by noon.  That left the rest of the weekend for a mini-vacation (not to mention company paid!).  I drove down the coast of the panhandle on 98 going through beach towns like Navarre, Fort Walton…

This year we took a trip to Destin, FL. We drove! On the way we stopped in Mobile, AL to see the Historic Fort Conde. It was a pretty neat little fort. My son liked the cannons and the wall looking out over the port of Mobile. The Fort was also over the tunel, which was pretty neat. We had a lot…

The beaches at Destin, FL are beautiful with all the white sand and clear blue water. We rented a party boat for the day and cruised the blue waters of the bay and Gulf. One of the most fun beach towns i have been to. A lot to do if you have kids. But still quiet enough for a romantic get away.
