Great experience on the sand Apr 07, 2014
I love Dubai Safari Desert. We did dune bashing for almost half an hour with 4x4, though it's very scary for first timer. For me, it's even scarier than roller coaster.

After a while, we reached the camp to do many activities, such as sand boarding from sand hill, riding camel (it's actually only for short time 1-2 mins just for taking picture), and smoked shisha.

On the evening, there's belly dancing and Tannoura dancing (body spinning for more than 40 minutes) performance. It's very interesting.

You can book it from the internet. Though the price from different travel agents are quite different (ranged from 57 to 100 dirhams), they served same service (tourist will be pooled in the same camp). So just try to get cheapest option.

So far, I like it!

Amazing experience Apr 17, 2013
The desert safari is a must do experience in Dubai. Usually you are picked up at your hotel and then it is about an hour's drive to reach the sand dunes. It is surprising how close one is to the desert.... The safari ride is an amazing experience. They drive you up & down the dunes and even on the sides of the dunes !! it is a bit scary to see the vehicle in front of you ..probably because you cant see that your own is also going the same way !! The safari ends in a campsite where one is served local food..( not so great ) and a show of dances - Tannoura & Belly dancing... Both are great !!

Suggestion - have a light lunch before the safari :)

desert safari in dubai May 26, 2011
one the things to do in dubai is the desert safari.i chose orient tour(050 6463587) for my safari it was recommended to me by someone. At 3:30pm the car was sent to pick me frm my hotel and reached the destination at around 5:30pm.Waited for a while to other cars of the operators to come.Serious advice dont eat anything an hour before the trip starts .thr wr totally 12 cars all customized toyota land cruisers for the desert.soon we went of road into the starts the fun u would just hope and pray that the car doesn't topple. An hour of fun on desert between thr is a break for drinking water. Then we moved on to a camel farm stopped thr for a while to take pics .thr will be locals coming with falcons so that u can take a pic with the bird they charge u for that and in the camp its all arraged and free so hav patience to reach the camp.the they take u to the orient camp wr u can enjoy camel ride, desert boarding, hoka etc and all free so hav as much fun u want to.Alcohol is available at 3 times its price but a chilled beer in desert is always worth any is amazing.after the food thr will be belly dance performance by a dancer.and that is the end of the program .For overnite stays in the desert they hav tents made but reservations hav to be made .the staff r mostly indian and nice.

Desert Safaris in 4x4s over huge sun dunes Jun 01, 1999
We booked our safari through Knight Desert Safari company in Dubai, they were incredibly professional and polite. It was an evening safari starting about 3:30 pm. The driver picked us up from our hotel and explained our itinerary, which pretty much included going out into the Desert, stopping somewhere to play in the dunes; it was to last until 10:00 pm but seeing as we had dinner reservations, we ended our tour at 7:30 pm.

Our first stop included a stop to watch the sunset, the sight of the dunes glaring with golden-red color as the sun fades in the distance is indescribable. Unfortunately I have not yet scanned those photos, will have to do an update later.

"Travel is an exciting and adventurous passion, it is quite expensive but the reward outweighs the expense. If you can afford it, do it!" Africancrab.

We also booked safari on MUST2GO and it was the best trip in our life)) Sunset in the desert was incredibly beautiful))) It was very unusual and the Arab culture is very different from ours, but it's incredibly interesting to expand worldview. Because before this trip we were never in the Arab countries. My wife and I decided that we will definitely return to the Emirates to learn more about the Arab culture, on the site we also saw a lot of interesting tours and excursions to the Emirates, good site, we will definitely use it service the next time.
