Deschutes is an absolute must see when visiting Bend Aug 15, 2008
For those who have been to the Deschutes Brewery in Portland this is basically a smaller version of the exact same layout. The Bar area is very small and there aren't nearly as many tables so be prepared to either wait for something to open up or enjoy a frosty beverage while you stand. The service here is great as I've been a few times and each crew is fantastic. The Beer is awesome with their traditional brews as well as a seasonal (Twilight at the moment) and 2 solid English style Cask ales. The menu is above average as far as bar food goes, but don't expect a bunch of fancy meals. My favorite is the Elk Burger and its hard not to get it everytime I'm there.

It's located downtown and its minutes from everything else in Bend.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Jason

PS...Did I mention the Beer is fantastic ;)

No trip to Bend should be complete without a visit to the local Deschutes Brewery. The atmosphere is fun, and it's a great place to go meet locals and drink some renowned dark beers. Their food is great too, with excellent burgers and sandwiches. You can buy one of their "mini kegs" and they'll fill it up with your choice of ale every time you return! They offer all their beers on tap cheaper than anywhere else, plus the current seasonals, too. Everything is hand-crafted, including the beers, the mustard, the rootbeer, and the gingerale!

It's located right downtown, and you can't miss it.
