Mystical and Spiritual Retreat Mar 13, 2015
The Dervish House (Monastery) in Blagaj also known as Derviske Tekije in the local language was built around 1520 during the Ottoman Empire.

According to history, the Ottoman Sultan was so impressed by the enourmous amount of spring water from river Buna that he ordered for this Dervish House to be built at the source of river Buna.

It now remains as a mystical place in Bosnia & Herzegovina. It has a magnificent garden overlooking the source of Buna.

I wrapped my head and we entered the house. There is no entrance fee. There was a Quran recital on-going in one of the rooms at the time. The rooms are much better maintained than the mosque we went in Mostar. This house is also recognised by the Saudi Arabia government for there is a plaque outside with the Saudi flag. I also saw a lot of Middle eastern tourists here.

This house leaves me with a very calm feeling. I think the location is perfect for a spiritual retreat. Maybe it was the location, it look so picturesque with the river flowing below and the rock formation and flora and fauna every where you look.
