My second stay here and got an upgrade to a Junior Suite. I thought it was a simple room, but when I got in, it was a duplex! CRAZILYYYYY big!

This is an artsy hotel and was told that they change the design every 2 years. The "Style" Room that I've booked costs about CHF 225, but the Junior Suite costs CHF 300. I think it's a huge difference between the size of these 2 rooms, but the price difference is only CHF 75. If you have the budget to splurge, I'd definitely recommend the Junior Suite in the attic! You can have a party there!

Location is easily accessible by train/tram and only abour 5 minutes walk to the city centre. It's an old building on one side and a newer building on the other. Depending on which room you've booked, it may or may not come with an elevator.

Nothing to complain, let the photos do the talking.

I stayed here for 6 nights in August 2015. It's an artsy hotel, so you can already expect to see a lot of paintings/artistic decorative items, and of cos, with these, comes a price too.

Location - very central, about 5 minutes to the city where you can get food, visit a museum, get a tram, etc. Basel is a small town so you can go everywhere by foot if you're staying here. There's also a tram no. 3 that goes right on the doorstep.

Room - the one I had was very nice and spacious and everything was white. It comes with a TV with lots of channels and also a CD player. I turn on the radio every morning and it was enjoyable. They also have a collection of CDs where you can borrow to your room. But being an artsy hotel, don't expect normal kind of pop CDs. There are also chairs if you're having visitors, otherwise I hardly use them. The room is brightly lit with lots of windows. Love it! It also comes with enough hangers, espresso machine, safety box, indoor slippers and bathrobe. I don't think there's air conditioning in the room but they did provide fan.

Bed - nice and comfortable. The sheets were also of some 'special' material, not cotton.

Bathroom - decent size, although considered small if compared to the size of the room itself. You get normal toiletries like shampoo and body shampoo, soap, nail file, hair dryer, shower cap, body lotion, vanity kit, sewing kit. Their shampoo didn't smell good. For the price, they didn't even provide toothbrush/paste and comb. Their hair dryer was very good and I love it!

Cleanliness - overall very clean. But they could have cleaned the fan though.

Service - There's laundry service but very expensive. But we can ask for the iron for the room. 2 bottled water (1 still 1 sparkling) were provided everyday. In room service is available but not 24 hours.

Breakfast - bread, fruits, cereal, yogurt, juices, tea, eggs. Good enough selection.

Facilities - They have a wine cellar available at the ground floor of the hotel. Nicely done. There are also meeting rooms if you need to have some discussions. My favourite is that they have free bicycle rental with no time limit as long as you don't take it with you overnight.

In general - They have lifts, but it doesn't go straight to your floor. There's still some climbing to do, so if you have a heavy luggage, good luck.

Saving the "best" for last, the PRICE. It costs a bomb.
